Local Nature Recovery Strategy

Local Nature Recovery Strategy

The Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) for Derbyshire will be specific to the county of Derbyshire and the city of Derby and will set out priorities and proposals to help nature to thrive and provide wider environmental benefits in the future. It is being formed and will be delivered in partnership with a range of organisations as well as local people.

LNRS Document

The draft LNRS for Derbyshire will be added to this website prior to the public consultation period in early 2025.

The final LNRS will be available on this website following its approval in Summer 2025.

Strategy Development

Work is underway to develop the strategy. A series of stakeholder engagement events will be held over Summer and early Autumn 2024 to gather views and knowledge from as many people as possible. We will also undertake public consultation on the draft strategy in early 2025.

Get involved

We want to engage with as many people and organisations as possible during the development of the LNRS to capture knowledge and ideas about nature recovery opportunities. There are a range of ways to get involved.

LNRS Will:

Map our most valuable existing habitats

Agree priorities for reversing the decline in biodiversity

Map opportunities for
nature recovery and wider environmental goals

Delivery Plan

The LNRS is being developed through a series of steps, as required by the Government.  This will enable the development and publication of the LNRS by Summer 2025.
