The mapping accompanying the strategy is in three parts.
- The Areas of Particular Importance to Biodiversity, APIBs. These are areas of importance for Biodiversity that already exist.
- Potential Measures. These are actions that would help to conserve or enhance Biodiversity if delivered. It is important to note that not all Potential Measures are mapped, and that those included in the mapping are only those where action can be defined as location specific. This is further explained in Section
- The Areas that Could Become of importance to Biodiversity (ACBs). These are areas that could become of future importance to Biodiversity if actions/potential measures are delivered. These areas are based only on the mapped Measures, and exclude areas already of importance (APIBs) on the basis that an area cannot become of importance if it already is.
