How the LNRS is being developed

As the responsible authority, Derbyshire County Council must follow guidance from the Department for Food, Environment and Rural Affairs (Defra) when developing the LNRS, this includes applying a robust governance process.

To help govern the development of the LNRS we have established three governance groups:

  • A Supporting Authorities Group – enables the involvement of the supporting authorities in the preparation of the LNRS. Makes proposals to the Steering Group.
  • A Steering Group – provides technical expertise and oversight to the development of the LNRS and promotes and helps to facilitate effective organisational and sector stakeholder involvement in its development. Makes proposals to the Advisory Board.
  • An Advisory Board – responsible for reviewing and validating information referred to it by the Steering Group and makes recommendations to Derbyshire County Council’s Cabinet in respect to fulfilling its Responsible Authority duties.

The Terms of Reference for these groups are provided here.

Organisations we partner with

As the responsible authority for the reparation of the LNRS for Derbyshire, Derbyshire County Council must take certain ‘reasonable steps’ to involve its supporting authorities.
