Governance structure

As the responsible authority, Derbyshire County Council followed guidance from the Department for Food, Environment and Rural Affairs (Defra) when developing the LNRS, including applying a robust governance process.

To help support, govern and direct the development of the LNRS, we established three governance groups:

  • A Supporting Authorities Group – enabled the involvement of the supporting authorities in the preparation of the LNRS, including making proposals to the Steering Group.
  • A Steering Group – provided technical expertise and oversight to the development of the LNRS and promoted and helped to facilitate effective organisational and sector stakeholder involvement in its development. Made proposals to the Advisory Board.
  • An Advisory Board – responsible for reviewing and validating information referred to it by the Steering Group and making recommendations to Derbyshire County Council’s Cabinet in respect to fulfilling its Responsible Authority duties.

Organisations we partner with

As the responsible authority for the reparation of the LNRS for Derbyshire, Derbyshire County Council has worked closely with its Supporting Authorities, Steering Group members, and other experts and specialists who have supported the development of the Strategy.
