Local Nature Recovery Strategy

Local Nature Recovery Strategy

The Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) for Derbyshire is specific to the county of Derbyshire and the city of Derby, and sets out priorities and proposals to help nature to thrive and provide wider environmental benefits in the future. It is delivered in partnership with a range of organisations as well as local people.

Strategy Development

A series of stakeholder engagement events were held over Summer and Autumn 2024 to gather views and knowledge from as many people as possible. Findings from this engagement, as well as from the public consultation activities in February and March 2025, were used to develop the final version of the strategy.

Get involved

Although the strategy has now been published, we know that delivering the LNRS will require many people and organisations – farmers and landowners, nature conservation bodies, local authorities, community groups and members of the public – to get involved. We will be working with partners to identify key projects and who might deliver them. Please keep checking back for updates to this webpage as we announce more ways to get involved as the Local Nature Recovery Strategy develops.
